Fast Company Names C&T One of the Most Innovative Companies
NEW YORK, SAN FRANCISCO, LONDON, MANILA — Code and Theory, one of the world’s largest independently-owned creative agencies, was named to Fast Company's "Most Innovative Companies" list, published online today. The agency was featured as a standout in the Design category.
Among this year’s honorees in the Design category include IKEA, Herman Miller, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, and Michael Graves.
“We are honored to be included,” said co-founder Dan Gardner. “We built this company 13 years ago knowing that we never wanted to be defined by the services we provide; rather how we use creativity and smart design to solve problems. It is a great feeling to see that vision realized and recognized.”
I'm surrounded by the most talented people in the world at Code and Theory. But it's also our counterparts—our clients—who we collaborate with every day to do great work.
Founded in 2001, Code and Theory has grown to encompass 300 employees working across the company’s offices in New York City, San Francisco, London, and Manila.
In a little more than a decade, its impact has been widespread: From helping to redefine the publishing industry through 50+ digital launches for media companies ranging from Bloomberg to the LosAngeles Times; to reimagining how governments like New York State can provide its constituents with better utility and access through NY.gov; to setting a new standard for how brands like BURGER KING® tell stories across platforms; to designing and building a satellite receiver for Outernet that can transmit information to remote areas of the world.
Within its synchronized ecosystem of disciplines—Brand Design, ProductDesign, and Industrial Design—Code and Theory continues to push the boundaries of what a creative agency can be in today's increasingly connected world.
To curate the “Most Innovative Companies” list, Fast Company editors gather and analyze data about organizations across the globe, searching for those with the most “progressive, nimble business models, an ethos of sustainability, and a culture of creativity.”
The feature can be accessed online at fastcompany.com/section/most-innovative-companies-2015, in app form via iTunes, and is also published in the March issue of Fast Company, which hits newsstands February 17.
