Kaplan is one of the world’s largest education providers. When you hear the name, SAT prep probably comes to mind, but they do much more than that.
Kaplan serves people at every stage of their education journeys, from creating study guides for high school students to financial courses for graduate students to real estate certifications for professionals. That’s in addition to two major B2B divisions offering white-labeled education portals to large businesses, such as Amazon, and custom consulting services to colleges and universities.
Over the years, Kaplan has achieved considerable growth through acquisitions — which resulted in the company overseeing 100 websites within their ecosystem.
They came to us with a big ask: Assess the expansive Kaplan universe, recommend how it could best be consolidated, and based on that recommendation, create a design system and information architecture for their namesake domain that could easily flex to support the migration of all the other Kaplan sites over time.
Our team designed and developed the first iteration of the new Kaplan.com, successfully migrated one of their numerous e-commerce websites into it, and laid the foundation for migrating the other 99+ sites.
