Code and Theory's XX+UX event highlights women's health in UX design with Google Design support.

Code and Theory hosted the month's edition of the Women in UX event "XX+UX."

The 50+ attendees mingled over light refreshments before sitting down with their assigned groups for an hour-long discussion on various topics pertaining to women’s health. Each group had a mix of UX designers and strategists from Code and Theory serving as moderators. Following the discussion the audience enjoyed presentations from two special guests…

Alex Evans

Evans, a Senior Designer at NY-based ZocDoc, spoke about her experience as the first female engineer to be hired on the ZocDoc team. Evans also discussed ZocDoc’s persona development process, and how they’ve tailored the design experience to their user base. She talked about how ZocDoc tests its designs and tweaks pages based on user feedback. She also stressed the importance of privacy on ZocDoc and how sensitive the company is to the information funneling through their platform. Her explanation of the extensive privacy measures and their impact on UX was particularly interesting for attendees.
