Code and Theory Hires Ben Berentson
NEW YORK - Code and Theory today announced that Ben Berentson has been hired as Senior Director, Editorial and Organizational Development, where he will work alongside clients to help them develop and cultivate the strategies, teams and products needed to meet the demands of the changing digital economy. Berentson will start in the newly-created role immediately and report to Michael Treff, Managing Partner, Product Design.
Prior to joining Code and Theory, Berentson worked at Condé Nast for 11 years, most recently as Site Director of Vogue.com. There he helped lead a complete strategic overhaul, significantly growing the site’s traffic, revenue, and social followings. He worked with Code and Theory to redesign Vogue.com in 2014 and spearheaded the launch of Vogue Runway in 2015. Vogue was the American Society of Magazine Editors’ 2015 Magazine of the Year, recognizing excellence across print and digital, and a finalist for Website of the Year in 2016.
“I’m extremely excited to be joining the Code and Theory team, I’ve known them for many years, and the redesign of Vogue.com was one of the most rewarding projects I’ve ever worked on,” Berentson said. “We had a clear strategic plan for how to grow the Vogue.com, put the right people in the right roles across the organization, and launched a great digital product. Doing all of these things pushed us to extraordinary success, and I’m looking forward to helping Code and Theory’s clients benefit from a similar shared vision.”
Ben Berentson Joins Code and Theory Team
“Ben’s experience as a digital executive with proven record across content, revenue generation and product strategy is an integral addition to our team. As the landscape converges across platforms, products, and content, it’s critical that we bring in experts who can speak to all sides of the equation: the user, the editorial teams, and the organizations that are needed to drive and evolve them,” said Code and Theory Managing Partner Michael Treff. “His talent, experience and credibility is something that our clients will value.”
A graduate of Brown University, Berentson began his career as a reporter for Forbes before moving on to Condé Nast in 2005 where he held several different roles, including Digital Managing Director of Glamour, which included oversight of Glamour.com, and Executive Director of Editorial WebStrategy at Condé Nast, where he worked across all of the company’s brands.
