Shore Capital is a one-of-a-kind private equity firm, delivering a combination of deal volume, returns and founder-friendliness that is unrivaled in the industry. They attribute their success to their culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement, supported by a rigorous processes and an expansive networks of industry experts. Unfortunately, this unique value proposition wasn’t coming through on their website — like most PE websites, the content was largely targeted at investors, and looked and sounded just like every other firm on the market.
Shore brought in Code and Theory to redesign their site from the ground up, with a new look and feel, tone of voice, and architecture all aimed at doing their unique culture justice. Our team wrote over 20 pages of new content for the site, repositioning existing site content to speak directly to founders and focus on the unique magic of Shore (and improving search performance along the way). We also migrated the site from WebFlow to WPEngine, enabling them to systematize and automate the updating of their site

Bringing a Unique Culture Onto the Page
Code and Theory worked closely with the Shore team to understand their unique value proposition to founders, and what makes them one-of-a-kind in Private Equity. Our team rewrote 12 of the most critical founder-facing pages on the site to emphasize this positioning, answer common founder questions, and position Shore as a confident and ambitious partner whose resources and ecosystem could take their company to the next level.
Building Around Industry Tentpoles
Shore Capital’s investment thesis is strategically focused on investing in a few industries where they have confidence their playbook will yield superior returns. We created dedicated landing pages that serve as “hubs” for these industries, enabling founders to understand Shore’s investment criteria, meet their team and roster of companies, and see relevant testimonials and news coverage. In addition to providing a better experience for founders, these new pages were great for capturing industry-specific search traffic, which Shore was previously missing out on.

Shore has delivered exceptional growth for its portfolio companies -- such exceptional growth, in fact, that interested founders sometimes struggle to even conceptualize how Shore could take their business to the next level. For the new website, Code and Theory built a tool that applies historic growth multiples to a founder’s current company size, while explaining how Shore is able to achieve such remarkable growth.
