Turning a Brick-and-Mortar Mainstay Into An Online Phenom
1
Framework
Party City boasts a massive physical footprint, operating a staggering 900 retail locations. But the pandemic’s impact on this brick-and-mortar heavy business expedited the need for Party City to rev investments in e-commerce.
2
Challenge
Our task was to re-platform their digital experience, launching a newly redesigned website that optimized and systematized these personalized, non-linear shopping options.
Party City shopping isn’t one-track, necessitating complex user flows and features. Here’s why: customers can pick up products in-store or curbside, get products shipped, schedule delivery of a gift at a specific time, or any combination of the three—within a single order. Customers can also build personalized collections of products, from color-coordinated tableware and streamers to hand-picked balloon bouquets, design custom invitations, and much more.
3
Outcome
To ensure ease of use and understanding, we tested to continually validate and iterate on our designs and usability.
The back-end we built is also fluid and feature-reach, enabling real-time inventory management, scheduled seasonal content, and sophisticated personalization.
The new site is expected to launch in Q3 2022. We’re geared up for a celebration.
