Lead Engineer, Adobe Integration Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled Adobe Integration Specialist with deep expertise across the Adobe Experience Cloud stack and strong experience integrating enterprise platforms with Generative AI solutions such as OpenAI, Google Gemini, and other LLM providers.
This role will focus on architecting and implementing a secure, scalable bridge layer between Adobe platforms (AEM, AEP RTCDP, Creative Cloud, Workfront, Adobe I/O, Adobe UXP, etc.) and GenAI services for both read and write operations.
The ideal candidate must understand Adobe’s multi-layer architecture (System, Service, and UI layers), authentication frameworks (IMS, OAuth, JWT), and API ecosystems (Adobe I/O, App Builder, Runtime, Eventing, Mesh). They will design and build robust integration pipelines that enable AI-powered workflows across content, data, and experience platforms.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Architect and implement integration frameworks connecting Adobe Experience Cloud products with GenAI platforms (OpenAI, Gemini, etc.)
- Design and develop a secure “bridge layer” enabling bi-directional communication (read/write) between Adobe systems and LLM services
- Build reliable data pipelines to fetch, transform, and push structured and unstructured data between Adobe platforms and AI services
- Implement integrations across System layer (APIs, data services), Service layer (business logic, middleware), and UI layer (AEM, UXP extensions, Workfront panels, Creative Cloud plugins)
- Develop integrations using Adobe I/O, App Builder, Runtime, Eventing, API Mesh, and custom microservices
- Navigate complex authentication and authorization flows including IMS, OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML, and service-to-service authentication
- Enable AI-driven use cases such as content generation, asset tagging, personalization, audience insights, and workflow automation
- Integrate AEM (Sites, Assets, Edge Delivery), AEP RTCDP, Workfront, and Creative Cloud workflows with AI-powered services
- Design scalable API orchestration strategies with proper rate limiting, retry logic, monitoring, and observability
- Ensure enterprise-grade security, compliance (GDPR, CCPA), and governance in AI integrations
- Collaborate with solution architects, data engineers, and UI teams to embed GenAI capabilities seamlessly into Adobe interfaces
- Provide technical documentation, integration blueprints, and reusable frameworks for future AI-enabled projects
- Troubleshoot integration bottlenecks and optimize performance across distributed systems
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Deep understanding of Adobe Experience Cloud stack, including: AEM (Sites, Assets, Edge Delivery Services), AEP RTCDP, Workfront, Creative Cloud, Adobe UXP extensibility, Adobe I/O (Runtime, App Builder, Events, API Mesh)
- Strong experience integrating Adobe solutions with AI/ML platforms and LLM APIs (OpenAI, Gemini, Azure OpenAI, etc.)
- Hands-on experience designing middleware and microservices for enterprise integrations
- Expertise in RESTful APIs, GraphQL, webhook frameworks, and event-driven architectures
- Strong understanding of enterprise authentication & authorization models (IMS, OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML, service credentials)
- Experience building scalable, resilient integration layers with proper logging, monitoring, and fault tolerance
- Proficiency in Node.js / Java / Python for backend integrations
- Cloud-native development experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Understanding of Adobe data models, content structures, Experience Fragments, Assets metadata, and Real-Time Customer Profiles
- Experience handling read/write operations securely across systems with role-based access control (RBAC)
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- 8–14 years of experience in enterprise integrations, digital platforms, or solution architecture
- At least 4+ years working directly with Adobe Experience Cloud products
- Proven experience integrating Adobe platforms with third-party enterprise systems or AI services
- Experience implementing Adobe I/O or custom middleware-based integrations in production environments
- Demonstrated expertise handling multi-layer authentication and enterprise security models
- Delivered at least 2+ large-scale cross-platform integrations involving Adobe products
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with AI-powered content generation and optimization (Adobe Sensei, GenStudio)
- Hands-on development of Adobe UXP plugins and Creative Cloud extensions
- Experience integrating AEP with AI for segmentation intelligence and personalization
- Knowledge of vector databases, embeddings, RAG architectures, and prompt engineering best practices
- Experience with streaming architectures (Kafka, Pub/Sub, Event Grid)
- Familiarity with headless CMS and composable architecture patterns
- Exposure to enterprise API gateways (Apigee, MuleSoft)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Adobe Certified Professional / Expert (AEM, AEP, or related Adobe product) preferred
- Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP) are a plus
