The Role:

At Code and Theory, our DevOps Engineers are passionate about automating development and production environments, and love the challenge of working in highly distributed and virtual environments. They are central to designing and operating environments that enable fast paced development and deployments while achieving high availability. Along with a systemic discipline, our DevOps engineers approach their discipline in new and creative ways and are open and passionate about exploring new technologies to improve our overall environment.

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our growing team. As a DevOps Engineer at Code and Theory, you should have expertise in leveraging a wide variety of open source technologies, as well as familiarity with both System and IT operations. You'll be responsible for establishing DevOps practices across project teams, so it matters that you're organized, metrics-driven and in possession of strong coding / scripting skills. Our teams are focused on continual improvement, and having a flexible and collaborative attitude will take you far.

Your experience should include: 

  • Designing and operating highly available software in large distributed and virtual environments.
  • Automation should be in your DNA 
  • Working on continuous deployments in a rapid startup or agency environment
  • Robust capabilities in Linux, Unix, MacOX and Windows operating systems
  • Deep understanding of complex network topologies, cloud/laas environment (AWS, Backspace), virtualization software (VMWare and Openstack) and build systems (Jenkins, Maven, Ant).  
  • Tools including: orchestration, docker configuration management (Puppet, Chef, AnsibleTest), containerization (Vagrant) and monitoring/alert (New Relic, Nagios)
