Code and Theory Hosts NYCxDesign Event

On the last day of NYCxDESIGN week, Code and Theory hosted an intimate talk series centered around the art of learning.

Four speakers from Etsy, Microsoft and Code and Theory each took the stage to share stories, measures, processes, tools and advice on how they’ve maintained a love for learning throughout their careers.

Jason Huff

Jason, a Product Design Manager at Etsy, spoke about what he learned in redesigning the company's on-boarding process. For one, "Don't let perfection prevent progress."

Stacey Mulcahy

Stacey, a Senior Technical Evangelist at Microsoft, spoke about how she taught herself to code, why blending in is bad, and offered a clear course of action for anyone looking to begin (or finish) a side project.

Marc Rabinowitz

Marc, a Senior UX Designer at Code and Theory, spoke about his lifelong passion for learning, and offered tips on how to maintain a love for learning throughout your career. Among his top pieces of advice: "Learn, unlearn, relearn."

Pamela Castillo

Pamela, a Senior Creative Strategist at Code and Theory, presented Five Foolproof Steps to Learning. For example: "Always bite off more than you can chew, and surround yourself with good people."
