At Code and Theory, our Associate Director of Data and Analytics partners closely with strategy, engineering, creative and production teams to define measurement programs and produce relevant and reliable data. They are the champions of empowering informed decision-making and enabling iterative optimizations and learnings, and their terrain extends across digital ecosystems, including experience design, marketing and campaign strategy, CRM, and analytics implementation. 

Our Data, Analytics and Research team is central to the strategic planning group at Code and Theory. To succeed in this role, you should be a strategic thinker, and eagerly propose innovative ways to interpret, innovate and translate data insights from our products and campaigns into meaningful recommendations. This holds us accountable, validates effectiveness, optimizes performance and uncovers opportunities for our clients brands and businesses. 

This role balances a hands-on, tactical approach and strategic positioning, and you will work across the three areas of specialty: Audience Intelligence, Product Intelligence, and Data Architecture. 

In Your First Month You will:

  • Develop end-to-end data strategy solutions for global clients by bringing a hybrid lens of data strategy and creative approach to develop audience insights, inform creative campaign concepting and define the measurement and testing optimization approach, as well as the reporting strategy 
  • Be an ambassador for the value-addition of incorporating good data strategy 


In Your First Year You will:

  • Lead, own and grow data and analytics offering within the assigned portfolio of new and existing clients
  • Coach, manage and lead junior team members to activate their existing skills and  inspire growth, learning and development
  • Develop, evolve and deepen partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders 
  • Clearly articulate and present data and initiatives, contributing to the overall growth of client relationships and breadth of work.  

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • 6+ years experience in related role at a major website, digital agency, retail/e-commerce organization, CPG
  • Demonstrated ability to clean, wrangle, analyze and visualize data sets large and small into streamlined, actionable analyses and distill data into strategic recommendations 
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel. Working knowledge of SQL and basic programming skills in Javascript, Python, R or SAS are desired
  • Ability to clearly articulate and present insights and recommendations to creative and technical teams alike to inform strategy
  • A problem solver, able to really listen and understand clients’ business questions, translate the business requirements into learning agenda and technical specifications, identify the best & innovative approaches with data
  • Experience working within the following tools:

- Digital Analytics Suites: Adobe Analytics (Omniture), Google Analytics
- Tag Management Solutions: Google Tag Manager, Adobe Dynamic Tag Manager, Tealium, Ensighten
- Testing / Personalization Frameworks: Adobe Target, Optimizely, Google Content Experiments, RichRelevance, Maxymiser, SiteSpect, Qubit
- Business Intelligence / Visualization Suites: Big Query, Google data studio, Looker, Mode, Chartio, Tableau, Qlik, Periscope, or Cognos

  • Able to quickly adapt to new or unfamiliar tools, data and problems
  • Flexible attitude in shifting environments. 
  • Naturally Curious and a strong presenter
  • Equally comfortable working autonomously as you are hyper-collaboratively
